Ayre Hotel Astoria Palace

This was a solid find for two nights in a city as pleasurable as Valencia. There were plenty of choices spread across Spain's third largest city, but we knew to maximize a brief stay here, the best neighborhood would be Ciutat Vella (Old Town). In a pedestrian-friendly zone, the hotel is just a five-minute walk to the Central Market and another five to Valencia Cathedral. It's pretty close to the train station and just one bus ride away from the City of Arts and Sciences. The hotel itself is a luxury boutique property. It was originally built in 1959 and still has that mid-century ambiance about it, but it got upgraded to a less dated look in 2021. The front desk was quite welcoming with complimentary drinks and a helpful attitude. Our room was a spacious Premium with a King Bed and City View. It had a comfortable banquette below the window, a large desk, and plenty of space in the bathroom. On the downside, the lobby was pretty busy most of the day well into the night since there was a cocktail bar and a Japanese fusion restaurant. It appeared to be quite the social hub for local suits as well as hotel guests. The two elevators were pretty compact, so it wasn't unusual to have to wait for the next car. Rates were on the pricier side. While I paid for the room with my credit card points, the room is $248 per night on most booking platforms.

Absolutely beautiful stay here at the Only You Hotel in Valencia. The staff really go above and beyond to help make your stay special, particularly Jose Enrique, who has helped me make my partner’s 30th birthday very special. Thank you again 🙏🏼

This is a fabulous place, it’s like stepping back in time. Great team with fabulous food and the views are amazing, special mention to Gabriela and Marian for their recommendations on the food, which is wonderful
