I slept in this hotel upon arriving in Bilbao late in the evening, and I greatly appreciated being able to eat something at the reception bar. I returned for the last two nights before departure; in the first case, I was assigned a room on the 5th floor, not very large but very welcoming and equipped with a large bathroom with a curious porthole-shaped window; in the second case, the room was on the 4th floor, generously sized but with a smaller bathroom. The breakfast was excellent, served on the 4th floor, very varied in terms of sweet and savory food choices and with quality products. The hotel is very clean and the staff is very friendly and generous with advice. The location is optimal, the Guggenheim Museum can be reached on foot in a few minutes, the Casco Viejo in no more than 10 minutes, and there are excellent restaurants nearby. There is also a paid underground parking available for customers, directly connected to the reception, which is a bit cumbersome to reach by car after checking in and obtaining your assigned spot.
Highly recommended.

The hotel is modern, and we had a nice corner room that was relatively large and quiet. The amenities were okay, and the location was within walking distance to both the city center and the Guggenheim Museum. The breakfast was very good, with a wide selection. In the superior room, there was even a complimentary bottle of water per person per day. Overall a positive experience, we would book this hotel again at any time.

I stayed at Mercure Bilbao Jardines De Albia recently and overall found it to be a very comfortable and well-presented base for exploring the city.
The standout for me was the room. It felt modern, well thought out, and nicely appointed throughout. The furnishings had a clean, contemporary feel without being overdone, and everything you would expect from a solid 4-star hotel was there. The bed was large and very comfortable, complemented by a good-sized TV directly opposite. I also appreciated the small touches like the Nespresso machine, fridge, and a genuinely comfortable armchair, which made the space easy to relax in.
The bathroom was equally impressive, with a generous layout, modern detailing, and a walk-in shower that felt more premium than you often find at this level.
The hotel itself is well designed. The lobby flows nicely into a relaxed bar and restaurant area, which creates a welcoming space to sit and unwind. The coffee, taken as part of the welcome drink, was also a nice and of good quality.
As an Accor Platinum member, I was pleased to receive an upgrade, which was appreciated and added to the overall experience.
There is also a decent gym on site, along with the option of a massage area, which adds a bit more depth to the stay if you have time to make use of it.
Location-wise, it’s well positioned. Most of the main sights are within around a 10-minute walk, and there are plenty of restaurants and bars right on the doorstep, making it very easy to step out and enjoy the city. Bilbao’s food scene, particularly the pintxos, is right there.
The only downside for me was the service. While everything functioned as it should, I found the staff to be quite indifferent across my interactions. Nothing was poor, but there was a noticeable lack of warmth or engagement, which stood out given how strong the rest of the experience was.
Overall, a stylish and comfortable hotel in a great location. With a bit more personality in the service, it would be an easy standout choice.
