I recently stayed at Citrus Hikkaduwa, and it was a wonderful experience overall. It’s impressive to see a hotel with such a long history, dating back to the 1970s, still maintaining its reputation and charm. The rooms are spacious, the ocean views are stunning, and the pool area is a great place to relax. What truly makes this hotel stand out is its people. From the moment we arrived until we checked out, the staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. We were welcomed by a bellman with a genuine smile and excellent hospitality, setting the tone for the rest of our stay. The front office team was also professional and attentive throughout. One thing I wasn’t particularly fond of was the breakfast identification system. Initially, we were asked to wear wristbands, which felt a little outdated. One evening, while looking through the à la carte menu by the beach, I noticed it lacked a few simple classics like fish and chips. I casually asked Chinthaka, who was serving us, if it was possible to have it even though it wasn’t on the menu. Without hesitation, he spoke to Chef Nandasena, and they went out of their way to prepare it. It turned out to be absolutely delicious. As someone working in the hospitality industry, I truly appreciate these thoughtful, personalized touches. They create memorable guest experiences, and both Chinthaka and Chef Nandasena deserve recognition for going the extra mile. The following morning, Chinthaka welcomed us again at breakfast, which added another personal touch to our stay. The breakfast spread was decent, though I felt there was room for improvement with a wider variety. Overall, we had a fantastic stay. The spacious rooms, beautiful beachfront location, excellent pool, and, above all, the outstanding hospitality from the staff made our visit memorable. Citrus Hikkaduwa proves that while facilities are important, it’s the people who truly make a hotel special. I would gladly return. It reads as a genuine review by someone with hospitality experience while acknowledging both the strengths and the few areas that could be improved.

We had an amazing time at Citrus Hikkaduwa. The staff were so attentive to our needs, and they even approved our late checkout. They had lovely buffets and live cooking stations for all meals. There was a server called Amanda in the buffet section who was very sweet and kind, and she provided exceptional service. It was an amazing time and a great break for us as a family. It's near Turtle Beach and also near Hikkaduwa Beach, where you can swim in nice, shallow waters. Highly recommend this hotel.

A very beautiful organization, a pool where you can see the sea right next to it, there is everything you need in the rooms. There is also the restaurant that makes very good dishes, whether they are Sri Lankan dishes or normal meals.
