Cockpit Airport Reach

If you are looking for nightlife in and around Colombo then this place is good to go. Not crowded and is open from 7pm to 5 am. Though not upbeat but is worth spending your night here. The service is good and one can find a companion quite easily. Frequented by many first time visitors.

They didn't have our booking. Not sure if this was there fault of Flight Centre Carindale Australia's!! So we paid again as it was 11.30pm at night. The room was clean. The door to the small balcony didn't have any locks - it was just a double glass door that you pushed open. The bar downstairs thumped music all night and into the early hours. We went down for breakfast and they were not planning on opening the restaurant - we may have been the only guests. When we asked for breakfast we were shown into the restaurant - no lights on or windows open. We were served an omelette (no choice) and juice and thought we were very strange to ask for tea - we were in Sri Lanka.... Staff were nice (except for the guy on duty when we arrived). Entry to the hotel looks nice. It was cheap, thank goodness. We stayed here due to late arrival and travelled to Galle the next day. On our return to Negombo to fly out we had to stay overnight again - guess where we didn't stay..

The thing to know about this hotel is that there is an all night disco with loud music downstairs in the bar. Stops at 6am. Otherwise it's OK. The food is nice and the staff are helpful. The building is grand and solid. Room is large, bed comfortable. It's just the thudding noise all night that would stop me staying here again.
