Mandara Resort

We were put in a smelly mold filled room 226 - this is supposed to be the “superior sea room”. We were told all the rooms were fully booked so couldn’t switch rooms that night. Wonder what diseases live in that room. The question is WHY do they assign room 226 to guests in the first place. When I informed the staff about the moldy room they didn’t seem surprised about it and didn’t apologize in any way. So they were clearly aware of that moldy room and assigned it to us anyway. Imagine being forced to sleep in a moldy room, totally unacceptable

Most pleasant welcome with lighting of candles and tasteful welcome dri nk of Soyrsop frit juice. Ladies at the reception, Chicano and Dulmini , were exceptionally helpful and very obliging. Mani was very engrossed in providing life of Turtles. At 6.00pm Lali had me rekease a baby turtle into the sea that was only hatched yesterday. He looked after .e in the gym and told me how the equipment worked. Had a go at the walker but only for 5 minutes.

Our family stayed here for 2 nights and the overall facilities, service and quality of the hotel is excellent. We had a small issue with the shower which was fixed very quickly by the reception. In particular I would like to thank Prasaknka and service manager Maheshi at reception. Prasanka organsied a day tour for us at very short notice- he went above and beyond to make sure our day out was amazing. client services manager Maheshi was very welcoming, she always greeted us with a beautiful smile and you can tell she genuinely cared about guests having an excellent time at the resort and we very much appreciated her assistance from check in to check out . Secondly a huge shout out to chef Ashoka- the food was of excellent taste and quality - we had asked for special kids meals outside of normal buffet / set menu items and these were take care of which we really appreciated. Finally the gentleman Lali that looks after the events/ turtle hatchery - made it all the special with relapse of baby turtles in the evening - great way to end the afternoon and good fun for kids. Overall I would say this place is one of our best stays on our 12 day Sri Lankan trip Thanks Mandara and team !
