Oasis Beach Resort

I stayed for a couple of nights in November 2025, and when I came back to Negombo in February 2026 for a 2month stay, I resided here with the exception of 1 night. It was great value, perfectly situated just above 'Honey Beach', and in the centre of all the amazing bars and restaurants in Negombo. It certainly wasn't a 5-star hotel, but everything was perfect for what it was, and it was great value for money. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and I have no complaints whatsoever. 58 lovely nights.

We were forced to stay at Oasis Beach as all flights were cancelled in the cyclone . It was the only place we could find at 2 am. The first room we were shown was full of puddles, yet they were going to charge us way over the normal price for it . We asked for another room that was dry and they gave us another room, which was dry but damp. We felt they took advantage of our plight, being forced to stay an extra 2 days in Sri Lanka because of the airport closure. Bedding looked as though it was 40 yrs old and the bottom sheet was torn, exposing a mattress without a protector on it. We put our beach towels over the dirty pillows, after standing for 18 hrs in the airport, we were desperate to lie down. The shower drained through a hole in the wall; the toilet bowl was brown. Some sockets didn’t work. The whole place looks good on the outside but there has obviously been no renovations for years. It’s in a lovely location but that is its only plus point. Another couple arrived with us from the airport and they too were unhappy and moved out the next morning to a different hotel. Please don’t go expecting a pleasant stay- you will be disappointed.

Sadly we went here, excited by the sunset views. Beer was good but when we ordered food there was a 10 min wait for a menu. When we placed our order we were hopefully seeing the food go past us, however, after an hour we asked for an update on our food to which they said soon. After a further half an hour, the food was still not there. Therefore, we asked for our bill for just our drinks which they stalled and try to insist that we ate. After putting our foot down we managed to pay for our drinks bill. Just before we were about to leave the staff said we may have our food for free as it was ready so we waited for it. When it arrived, as if a joke, it was cold and the crab curry arrived which can only be described as a chicken carcus stew. The staff looked visibly pissed off with our dislike. Please do not go here and save yourself some trouble.
