Best Western Motala Statt

No no no… We had our worst hotel experience ever at Stadshotellet in Motala… We were passing through and had booked a Queen Room as we thought the pictures of the Queen Rooms looked good, and they gave the impression of being a clean and fresh room. However, it was anything but that. The room on the fourth floor had only one skylight, i.e. you did not even look out at the surroundings and could not air. There was a really lousy carpet on the floor and the whole room smelled of old moisture. The bathroom was completely orange, from the 70s guess, sooooo fresh. But what bothers me the most is that when I talked to the man at the reception about our horrible experience, he was completely uninterested in helping us, or in any way compensate us. The hotel was fully booked so we could not change rooms. After 20 minutes in the room, we chose to check out, never mind that we do not get any money back. We really couldn't stay in the room (which apparently was forgotten both when the other rooms were renovated and the day the rooms were photographed for the booking pages.) We went on to Norrköping instead and stayed at a fresh hotel with nice and accommodating staff. So if you’re thinking about Stadshotellet in Motala, I recommend that you think one more time, or at least ensure that you get a room that got to keep up with the renovation.

What a positive surprise! The room was really nice and fresh, and the breakfast was perfect. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and would love to come back!

Very good priced hotel, everything work, the staff called me in the evening and asked when I arrive (as I was arriving late in the evening). Checking in was perfect and quick. Got a very nice room, large space, balcony, good bed, working desk, refrigerator, water boiler with tea and coffee on the room. Hotel / Room was slightly worn, slightly old fashion but nice and clean and everything worked. Breakfast was excellent and good parking places on the roads directly at the hotel. Perfect for a short stay but could have used it for longer stays as well!
