Elite Grand Hotel Norrköping

✅ Very good location in a beautiful historic building with a charming inner courtyard. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful. There is a parking garage nearby. The breakfast was excellent, with service until 11:00 a.m. during the summer. The breakfast offered a good selection of gluten-free and vegan options. The bed linen and towels were clean, and the shower gel and soap smelled lovely. The room was equipped with a TV, hair dryer, and minibar. The air conditioning worked perfectly. The bed linen and towels were clean, and the room had no unpleasant smells. We were lucky to get a room with a beautiful view and a small balcony. ❌ The beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable, with very thin mattresses. The room was very small, and the worn-out furniture did not meet the standards of a four-star hotel. What was particularly disappointing for such a large four-star hotel was the poor level of cleanliness. There were large clumps of dust on the curtains and mold in the bathroom. This is not difficult to clean, and other guests have mentioned the same issue in their reviews, yet the dust is still there.

The hotel has become really bad with worn rooms, bad beds and hesitant cleaning, with mixed quality of reception staff. The room was a superior room in good size but with scratched floors, broken curtains and greasy fingerprints on the mirror. The bed was so crazy soft and rocking that it felt like lying in a water bed. I checked early with the reception if there was another room but the receptionist (dark long hair) was unhelpful and dismissive even though it was early and most rooms were not checked in. She informed me that if it is the bed that is the problem then all the beds are equally soft and laid down, which was a strange response. The girl who checked us in (with medium blonde, curly hair) was nice though and the receptionist I chatted with who had the passport 16-20 (with nice long, dark hair with highlights) was super sweet. Breakfast was a standard buffet. No one in the breakfast staff said hello to the guests but looked away before we even had time to say good morning. It was overall not a cozy stay and we do not expect to stay here again.

Stately building with a little boring interior. Fresh rooms that seem to be larger on the lower floors. Good breakfast but quite crowded. Annoying to book twin beds but get double bed. Difficult parking nearby and annoying cleaning zones (parking ban some days). A big plus is the location in the finest part of Norrköping city center with nice walking opportunities in the industrial landscape.
