Hotel J

The hotel is a bit outside of Stockholm and therefore quiet. Nevertheless, it is easily accessible by public transport (boat 80 - SL card). The breakfast is good, the selection is straightforward. Unfortunately, there are no omelets. Our room was nicely furnished, but the doors in the hallways slamming shut loudly did not meet the high standard of the hotel. It is annoying all the additional services where it is not really clear that they cost extra. For example, there is a "Good Morning Sauna" that can somehow be interpreted as included in the communication on the website and on the sheet in the room, but must be booked for an additional 250 or 500 SEK. I find it cheeky that the use of the Panorama sauna costs extra given the room price. I can understand if the Panorama sauna is rented privately and is not accessible, but the fact that it can only be used for an additional fee that is not really communicated is not okay in my view. At least the use of the small sauna in the house by the sea was included.

We had our second stay at Hotel J and were brilliantly satisfied. The hotel is nice and nice. Here it is easy to lower your shoulders, and the city is only a short boat ride away. We'll be back.

The hotel is away from the hustle and bustle of central Stockholm but very easy to commute to by public transport. Download the SL app and buy a pass to make travel easy. The hotel is well served by either ferry or bus. Ferry 80 starts at Nybroplan and takes 5-6 stops to reach Nacka Strand or there are several buses that serve the area from central Stockholm. It’s a 10min downhill walk to the hotel from the bus stop or a 5 min uphill walk from the ferry station. Bear this in mind if arriving with luggage! The area/setting of the hotel is beautiful. The hotel blends traditional Swedish design and quality with modern features. The room was decent sized and had everything needed for a perfect stay. Comfortable beds. Nice large TV with streaming apps built in. Decent bathroom with very powerful shower. Wifi worked well through the hotel. The room was spotlessly clean and we had a lovely sea view. Check in was very friendly and efficient as was checkout. All staff we interacted with were excellent and a credit to the hotel. As our flight was late evening we stored our bags for a few hours while exploring on our last day. Breakfast is set in a different building with a lovely authentic vibe. Lots of choice including cereals, cold cuts, cheese, fruit, salad items, sausage, bacon, beans, eggs and lots of different breads. The homemade jams and juices were an unexpected bonus. One small issue is the hot items were lukewarm rather than hot. Overall we loved this hotel and would definitely make plans to return. If you want a peaceful retreat away from the crowds but within easy commuting distance you will not be disappointed.
