Best Western Hallstaberget

Booked online and came there happy, fully booked it turned out to be! Understand the disappointment when I booked the wrong weekend! 😭 But thanks to a wonderful girl at the reception (Raoan) they managed to get a room in 15 minutes! Not with the “booked” view but still! Besides this so much Good service overall! I'd love to come back!

Incredible views, fantastic spa! A lovely hotel located high up with a wonderful view of Sollefteå and the surrounding area. Good walks / trails that are well marked. Good food and friendly staff.

I visited Hallstaberget Hotel to celebrate my partner’s birthday. What was meant to be a special occasion turned into a very negative experience. During our time at the spa, an intoxicated guest approached us and made a racist remark. We tried to avoid escalation, but the same individual later returned and grabbed my partner by the head, which led to a physical incident. What was most concerning was how the situation was handled by the hotel staff. Despite the seriousness of the incident, the manager did not try to understand what had happened and took no meaningful action. The guest was not asked to leave, and we were left feeling that if we wanted to feel safe, we had to leave ourselves. Only after the intoxicated guest fell on his own was he finally removed. The individual appeared clearly intoxicated yet was still being served alcohol, which raises serious concerns about responsible alcohol service and guest safety — especially in a spa environment where the floors are already slippery. Even after explaining the situation, we felt that our concerns were not taken seriously. When visiting a hotel, a basic expectation is to feel safe and supported as a guest. Unfortunately, this was not the case, and we did not feel that our safety was ensured at any point. There was no effective support from staff — neither a manager willing to properly listen nor any visible security to handle the situation — leaving us feeling that we had to rely on ourselves to stay safe. Overall, this experience raised serious concerns about safety and how incidents are handled. I would NOT recommend this hotel if you expect a safe and properly managed environment.
