First Avalon

Stayed for 5 nights in a deluxe terrace room (the one’s with a huge Horse Lamp on the terrace!). The room was fantastic, very comfortable and with everything you need stored away neatly. I don’t know anything about feng shui but I see their website says that they do and I wouldn’t disagree. The large windows give a great view of the city. The balcony is a really good size and I loved being out there in the afternoon, seeing and hearing the people going about the city. Our room (9) had the sun all afternoon until about 5pm. Location of the hotel is very central & right by the excellent food hall and a multitude of public transport options. Maybe not the quietest spot in Gothenburg but we didn’t have any noise issues at all. Breakfast was good quality - just busy at the obvious times so choose your moment if you don’t want to be bothered by people looking vexed whilst walking around with an empty plate in their hand. I took advantage of the valet parking and whilst it is quite expensive i was glad of the convenience and when the car was needed they had it out front in a few minutes ( I didn’t enjoy driving in, around or out of Gothenburg). All of the staff we interacted with were great. Highly Recommended.

Very nice hotel, extremely centrally located. Walking distance to all the city facilities unfortunately parking was busy-but two days at Nordstan parking house 600 m from the hotel was easily and significantly cheaper. A big plus is an extremely delicious breakfast buffet bla with shrimp, eggs, gluten-free products etc. Another big plus was ironing board and iron in the room, which other hotels could learn from, so you can ironing iron when needed. Pool is small but delicious. There is a rift about the sun rays, although there were 16 sun loungers and sofa etc. Free pool towels as well as possibility of serving. We will be happy to come again and this time without a car - you can go to everything in the city or take the trams etc.

Fantastic service and very nice! Everything from staff to the perfect location in Gothenburg! Avalon is full marks on everything!
