Best Western Knistad Hotel And Konferens

We book a hotel room at Knistad Herregård the evening before your stay. Then we were informed that the room was not refundable. But then we got a message from the hotel the same day we were going to stay there that the restaurant would be closed. The message we did not see until far into the day. The hotel is on the countryside so there are no possibilities to go to get dinner/food elsewhere - one must drive for a while. The hotel also shut down the reception, bar and all living rooms so we had to be in the tiny room. All facilities at the hotel were closed for us due to an event - we should have been notified about it and the possibility to cancel. When we arrived at the hotel there was no attempt from the hotel side to help us or give us anything extra as a patch on the wound. The hotel is nice and we had looked forward to the stay, but this was just downturn for us unfortunately.

Returned here for the third time. But was a little disappointed with our high expectations! Accommodations and check-in were no problem -good treatment. Well equipped rooms, with everything one needs, The parking is great, with easy access to the accommodation. We had booked a table for the restaurant before we arrived, as we know it will quickly be fully booked. BUT that's when the disappointment came. Poor attention when we were about to be placed, long wait. A little messy who was in charge as head waiter. Finally got our table in the Winter Garden = quite ok. The menu we could already …. The food was very good, but the service was simply flawed. No structure of staff. They were also too few to meet the demands for service, which are required at crowded restaurants. We came in at 8:30. Dinner came in a little after nine. SO the restaurant needs to be steered up! A uniform outfit on the staff would be in order, so you can see who works here…. We paid and went full from there, but did not think it was affordable! BUT then we got up in the morning and had the best breakfast ever! Everything you could want with “extra everything” It saved our experience. Are we coming back? Yes , highly likely// Lars o Annica

We are 16 people who go to a new place to play golf and enjoy good food every year. Knistad delivered both a good golf course, lovely food and a lovely atmosphere. Thanks to Morten who took care of us all weekend😊
