Hotel Du Theatre

Greta stay, we were here 2 nights and would recommend this hotel. Its location was perfect, literally 5 mins from the train station which is good as you can get the train from the airport starlight to Zurich HB, which was around 7chfs for the ticket. The hotel is also on the doorstep of all tram stops so getting around or to place like the Lindt museum is easy which was a tram and then bus, the staff were very helpful with telling us the route and what ticket to get, we opted for a day pass. Lindt museum is worth visiting. The staff were really nice, helpful and informative and our room was great, the overall hotel is fun with the chocolate fountain and free bars and the rooms were well designed. Breakfast was good. Basic continental but had everything we needed. Overall had a great stay !

It does not correspond to the photographic reality ... misleading images, comofo place but still at the corner of two streets and stands on an old theater where breakfast is served. Narrow hotel with small rooms without shower so when you wash it floods. Poor breakfast does not correspond to a 3 star. The only positive note the gentelizza staff..solo to sleep can be fine fallback.... too hot in the rooms

Had to add one night in Switzerland and found this hotel on another site. Very sorry I did. We were early, around 11am, and my wife was not feeling great after the overnight flight from the US. The front desk guy was outside vaping (where he always seemed to be) when we got there, same time as two other groups. Was told our room wasn’t ready but could store luggage just down the stairs (wooden stairs that looked like a carpenter just built them) This was a former theater converted to their breakfast room. We waited for him to come after checking in the other groups (they got rooms) and he never did. Found another employee and was told just leave the bags in the corner. Explained we had some valuables and asked if they could lock them in a secure area and was told no but they put a rope up (not very reassuring). This didn’t work for us and we waited (and waited and waited). My wife asked for the location of the restroom and was told, sorry no, she couldn’t use it. Had to leave and go to Starbucks to use a restroom. REALLY?!?! Got a room about 3 hours later. When we went in, it was beyond tiny. About a foot or two at most between the bed and both the desk and the window wall. Looked in the bathroom which was 3-4 feet wide and it had a sink and TINY shower stall. We were very confused as there was no toilet. We opened what we thought was the closet (there is no closet, just a small rack next to the desk with a bar to hang things) and we found the toilet. It made the lavatory on the plane look big (no joke). The tv didn’t work and they sent someone up that played with the wires and seemed like he was going to rip it off the wall but by what appeared to be dumb luck if started working. Before management responds that we should have spoke to the staff we did on everything but was only given shrugs of that’s just the way it is. For almost 300 francs for the night and it saying it’s a 4 star hotel it’s ridiculous. Their signature chocolate fountain was also broken (lol). This is a 2 star hotel at best and that’s generous. The only reason for 2 star rating is it was clean. Kudos to housekeeping.
