APPENZELLERHOF IDYLLHOTEL

We stayed here for two nights on a short trip to the Lake Constance / Appenzell area with the hotelcard we have (which gave us a 30% discount). Contact with the owner beforehand (I had some questions as it is of course Covid time!) was very good - she got back to me immediately. Only hotel guests could eat in the restaurant, which was therefore not at all crowded. Dinner on Saturday night and our breakfasts were excellent. Fresh, local ingredients and such friendly service. On the second night they didn’t serve dinner, but we got take out pizza from the restaurant next door, which we ate in one of the beautiful sitting rooms. The owners had prepared plates, silverware and a bottle of wine for us! They found not have been nicer and more accommodating! 😊 👍Our room was also perfect: comfortable beds and lovely bedding. I’m a very light sleeper but even though we were on the road side of the hotel, the insolation was such that there was no bothersome noise. Speicher is a small village and really well located for great walks! We walked from the hotel, through gorgeous countryside, up to Hohe Buche and then over to the town of Appenzell. Fabulous walk that took us 5-6 hours because of the many photo, coffee and picnic stops. Then took the little local train right back to the hotel!

A friend of us recommend this hotel. We need to say, thank you for this recommendation! Sandra and Arnaud are perfect hosts. Very welcoming, caring and professional. They love what they are doing. The food is from the region and absolutely delicious. The perfect place of a relaxed weekend in a picturesque landscape.

The owners of the hotel are friendly and helpful. I was attending a conference in St Gallen and they advised me on taking the train and which stations to get off at. The room was very clean & tidy. Hot drinks are available free of charge for all guests but not food. Also free parking is available on site which is very handy.
