Hotel Lindenhof

Stay away from this hotel and restaurant. View is nice. Rooms are not comfortable. It needs a huge renovation. It is run by apparently an Indian company and has a status of a bad hotel in the 50s . My worst experience in Switzerland where I have travelled for the last 40 years. Breakfast is sub par and avoid the restaurant which propose asian and plain food ! Yet it is very expensive for what it is. If you have no choice, no more than 1 night.

This is a lovely located hotel, but there are a couple of things that let it down, apart from the price! We were part of a group, our room was a superior double and it you craned your neck you could just about see the Lake. However, many of the group mentioned that the bathrooms, including ours, ere no more that a 'small box' with very little room to move. In our case the size of room did not match the size of the bathroom. We were able to dine outside which was very nice, and as a group we had a set menu. This was ok, however, there is no mention in the hotel information that the restaurant is Swiss/Asian. Ok for us, we like Asian food. The waiters were very helpful if a little rushed off their feet, appearing to be only two all the time we were there. Breakfast was quire limited especially for a hotel of this standard and price. All that being said it is in a lovely position.

Booked for one night. Room number 30 is a self-assembled broom closet for the proud price of CHF 230.00. Unfortunately, one can no longer recommend the hotel… You notice that it is no longer a family business…
