We stayed in the hotel for only one night. Friendly reception; our room was not yet available, but we were able to store our luggage. The room was large, rustic, yet cramped, and the access to the bathroom was convoluted. The amenities were okay and functional. The breakfast was sufficient; unfortunately, much of it was reheated. The spa offered everything desired for relaxation after a hike; wonderful. Fresh baked goods from a local baker would be an additional plus.

Hotel ok - good amenities pool / sauna steam room - good location for skiing etc but let down by abrupt and unhelpful staff

We chose this hotel for a stopover before taking the car-train to Wallis. The charming chalet-style hotel is in the center of Kandersteg, a Swiss mountain village close by the station. Our room on the first floor had a nice balcony with view of the mountains. We found the mattress rather hard, bathroom is small, no separate toilet. Nice decoration. The breakfast in the large and cozy dining room was of good quality, good Swiss cheeses. We missed freshly made omelettes. There is one (slow) electric charging point, beware, no others closeby. Check in was smooth and friendly. Tx all !
