Mercure Classic Hotel Leysin

Accustomed to this establishment (4 or 5 visits) we had always stayed in the main building (that of the reception). There they put us in the building opposite (across the road). Nothing to do. Small rooms, shower instead of bathtub, view of the building opposite 10 meters, TV that does not work, LED lights that hang, etc. When I tell them at the reception, they tell me that we must specify which building we want to be in. But it's up to them (or their partners like Booking) to inform us that it's not the same standingx. Anyway, very disappointed. At more than CHF 175.- at night, we can expect much better. Next time I will think before staying at this property, unless they really distinguish between the two buildings so that the guest does not get pigeonholed.

Stay with friends – Expression of discontent When we arrived, we were directed to five-bed rooms in the hotel’s annex building, when we were all couples. This distribution proved to be inadequate and resulted in a significant loss of comfort and space. These rooms seem more designed for groups or holiday camps than for guests of our profile. When we talked about this problem at the reception, we were told that the hotel used to group groups on the same floor, which may be understandable for a young clientele, but did not fit our situation, all being in their fifties. We also found many shortcomings in the rooms: insufficient cleanliness, absence of soap, tissues and hygiene bags in the bathroom. The most disappointing point was the towels, in very bad condition, often with holes and obviously very old. In addition, some equipment was degraded, with holes in the ceiling and a ventilation system diffusing cold air. The bedding was also unsatisfactory: the pillows were worn out, very flat or on the contrary too hard, offering very poor comfort. Finally, one of the rooms did not have heating. After complaint, a staff member kindly installed an extra heater, which we appreciated, but it should not have been necessary. We are all the more disappointed that we have been staying at this hotel for several years for an annual weekend with friends. This time, we have seen a marked deterioration in services, with no price reduction in return. We hope that these comments will be taken into account in order to improve the quality of service in the future.

Very bad experience. The room was dirty and there was a lot of dust , we even found gum stuck under the shelves. The bathroom was in bad condition.The hotel was very old and the lunch was bad.
