Let me start by saying that the staff at the hotel were very good and the location is perfect. Our room also had a fabulous view of the Eiger. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended for us. The rooms are tired and are in definite need of a facelift. Our couch was stained and worn, and one of the dining room chairs was broken at the top. The mattresses also need to be replaced, as they were much too soft for our liking. The bathroom was another concern. The shower setup felt like an accident waiting to happen. The tub was narrow and slippery, and there was no grab bar for stability. The hotel also provided an all-in-one shampoo/body wash, with no separate hair conditioner. For a hotel advertised as 4-star, we expected a higher standard of accommodations and amenities. While the staff and location were excellent, the condition of the room and bathroom did not meet our expectations. Unfortunately, this is not a hotel we would choose to stay at again.

What a beautiful stay! I had booked a double room as a solo traveler with breakfast in August 2026 and was completely satisfied. Right from check-in, I was met with so much friendliness and hospitality - I felt comfortable immediately and this feeling remained the entire week. The hotel has the charm of many hotels in the Alps: some parts are already very old and building sections were added again and again over the decades. You can see signs of wear and tear in many corners, but everything is clean and it is not hard to feel completely comfortable. My room was on the 4th. Floor with a direct view of the Wengen train station and an overall great panorama. The breakfast buffet was more than generous. I was at the in-house restaurant spontaneously a few times in the evening and was not disappointed. The entire staff does a great job and is more than friendly. A supermarket right next door rounds off the great vacation experience. I will be back! :-)

I’m sure this hotel was a very nice place in the 1970s, but I believe they still have the same furniture and beds that they did in the 70s. Very Dated. They advertise that they have a washer and dryer, but they are actually “not” in the hotel and for public use. We had to wait in line for hours to do a load of laundry while guest of other hotels were doing theirs. The fact that they provide washers and dryers is a little misleading. They provide no washcloths, and said that is the European way, however, we spent three weeks in Switzerland and other hotel from Montreau to Zürich provided washcloths. It appears the branded hotels provide them and these one off hotels do not. Some of the staff, especially Delilah, made the experience palatable. She was extremely helpful and went out of her way to provide us with great information and assistance.
