The hotel is conveniently located, the bed was comfortable and the room was cleaned daily and the staff were friendly. However, that is where the positivity ends! The internal walls are paper thin, we could hear our neighbours toilet being flushed, their shower running and their conversations. There were doors being constantly banged shut. It was worse outside, the hotel is in a red light district (we didn’t know this before booking), there was constant screaming and shouting from people outside for what seemed to go on all night and this was every night, not just a one off. Even with the windows shut it was extremely noisy. To top it off we witnessed men and women peeing in the street, day and night! To say that we can’t wait to get home for a decent nights sleep would be an understatement.

Beware Scammers. Upon arrival at the hotel after payment for the room, I was asked for an additional charge of 50 francs for an unspecified room deposit for any damage to property or objects with the promise that I would be returned the next day. I state that I have traveled all over the world for work and I have never had to pay a hotel deposit for a hotel room. This is often the practice in the case of housing. Having said this the next morning at check out, I was informed that I would not be refunded as I had smoked in the room. I state that I am not a smoker and that the room was equipped with smoke detector (probably dear alleged manager not working??!! At the risk of endangering the lives of so many guests??). But the most absurd thing was that they had come to that deduction and availed themselves of the right to withhold my money, at the suggestion of the cleaning lady.....who since she was not a smoker had with her sense of smell inferred that she smoked in the room. So without any objective evidence but through a presumption of a room cleaner who arbitrarily said that there was a smell of cigarettes in the room. I repeat never smoked in my life. No trace in the room of residues of smoking activity and I repeat what is very serious the room equipped with a smoke detector that then, if working, should have reported the anomaly just lit cigarette! Security measures therefore in all likelihood not working. They should be seriously concerned about the non-operation therefore, any undetected fires putting the safety of travellers at serious risk. But no, the only thought was to keep the 50 francs This is called embezzlement. To conclude a pseudo manager the next morning even threatened me with battery if I didn't disappear immediately. Of course, a complaint has been filed against hotels and staff with the Geneva police authorities. Also presenting a video of the threats shot with their phone without their knowledge This complaint is not for the symbolic 50 francs but only for the protection of future travelers against these fraudsters who operate with mafia method and ruin the reputation of many operators in the sector who instead operate within the rules and with professionalism.

Whilst the hotel is advertised as 3*, I do not consider it to be worthy of 3*. We spent one evening here after a late arrival in Geneva and whilst the price was ok I wish I had paid extra to stay elsewhere. The room was dated, smelly, needed a total redecoration. The beds were uncomfortable and the shower room so old we couldn’t bring ourselves to use the facilities. Fortunately we were only booked here one night. The noise from the streets kept us awake til 3:30-4am. The staff were friendly enough but nothing special in the slightest. Absolutely no extras in the room - no water, no showering products. I would not stay here again and could not recommend to anyone, particularly families.
