Bad Serneus

Old hotel with overwhelmed staff - once and never again. Although the rooms themselves are renovated, the hotel smells old everywhere - it's not cool made old, but just old and the whole place smells musty. Even in the renovated rooms, lamps do not work, broken electrical outlets are not replaced and there is only a free outlet in the bathroom and somewhere in the corridor to charge the cell phone. The all-Eastern European staff speaks poor German and does not seem to be a specialist. The water in the showers of the thermal bath is quite fresh - some of us were too cold to shower there. The temperature in the rooms and dining area was also very cold, we all froze during dinner although even fire was burning in the fireplace and in the rooms most are immediately under the warm duvet. Of course, you can save electricity and do something good for sustainability. There was also a saving on paper: there was a single menu for the whole restaurant. When one table wanted to pay, the poor waiter had to explain in his broken German that he needed the card now for the billing (could probably not remember the prices for the 3 menus) and the other table had to wait with the order until the payment of the other table was completed. Kind of almost amusing, so full of situational comedy. Specific to our experience in addition: Shortly before arrival we were informed that our room is double occupied, we got two smaller ones for it - not too bad but it was also not the idea to divide the family. For this we got a 100 SFr. Voucher for dinner. There was one map, of which only three (!) Courts were in stock. The children's menu with normal pasta and tomato sauce cost 25.- SFr, the prices for the normal menus are much too high for what is offered - prefer to go to a pizzeria or another local restaurant, you get more for the money. At the menus for the adults you could see how they tried to get the voucher back in as only half portions were served (at the table next door with the exact same menu the plates were well filled) - at inquiries a little more spaetzli as everyone was still hungry was handed in for 4 people on a coffee saucer... On request for a local lager, a Erdinger Weissbier was served. At the reception we asked when there was breakfast and it was communicated 6:30. We wanted to get out on the ski slopes early. Around this time, however, the lights were only turned on in the breakfast room and the door opened, there was absolutely nothing ready, not even bread and coffee... In the ski room, all ski boot warmers were switched off, probably to save electricity.

We were going to the bathroom and sauna. After being unkindly “greeted” in English, our entrance fee was charged at 128.- CHF for 2 people. According to the internet site, 76.- CHF would have been due. When we tried to clarify this we gave up for good and left the fashionable hotel again. Absolutely not recommended!

DISASTER. We reserved a table in the restaurant in the evening. The abundant staff did not greet us. Asked about the table we were referred to an unfavorable unreserved table. Only on our intervention did we get a better table. But now it’s only coming: After some waiting, the cellar brought the cards and wanted to take the order, he could not express himself. He picked up an English card in which several dishes were crossed out in red. Dessert wasn't available at all. More than half of the wine was not available. The food was not bad, but the Caesar salad was just a pimped-out starter salad. The chicken breast was missing and then put on top as a whole. 4 waiters ran around the dining room of 12 tables uncoordinated. The Caesarsalt in their hands they first fired the fireplace fire! The impression was created of total chaos. At the next table, a lady waited two hours for her food. There was no cash register, the bill was written by hand, although beautiful. The language barrier of the staff is enormous, they also had the greatest trouble in English. I feel sorry for the waiters, they and the kitchen are absolutely not prepared and instructed for their tasks. Too bad, but we absolutely cannot recommend the Bad Serneus.
