Hotel Steffani is acceptable for a one-night stop, but no more than that. Our room was clean, functional and reasonably comfortable, although the corridors and communal areas felt tired and dated. The carpets in particular appeared stale and in need of replacement. We booked half board, which unfortunately proved to be a mistake. The hotel restaurant, Lapin Bleu, was our only dining option. Although the restaurant initially appeared pleasant, we were quickly shown to a table at the back and presented with a restricted set menu offering only two choices per course. The whole experience made us feel as though choosing the hotel’s half-board package was somehow an inconvenience. None of the available dishes was particularly appealing, and a bottle of water was charged at CHF 9. The most disappointing aspect was the way dogs were allowed to roam freely around the restaurant. Several guests had let their dogs off their leads, and one unpleasant-smelling dog repeatedly wandered underneath our table. Staff were seen stroking and feeding the dogs before continuing to serve food, which raised concerns for us about hygiene. We own dogs ourselves and are very comfortable around them, but animals should not be allowed to wander beneath other guests’ tables during a meal. One night here was enough. There is no way we would choose to stay any longer, and we would strongly advise against booking the half-board option. I would have rated it a 3 star experience, but have deducted a star because of their restaurant.

The Hotel Steffani is perfectly situated in the heart of St. Moritz, offering fantastic access to shops and restaurants. We were impressed with our spacious and clean room. The service was good and friendly, and we also enjoyed the hotel’s excellent restaurant. A truly enjoyable stay!

We stayed at this hotel for many years, but unfortunately many things have changed over time. The rooms are comfortable, while the bathrooms and room cleanliness leave a lot to be desired: they all have bathtubs with built-in showers, which is dangerous every time you enter and exit the bathtub. In addition, ventilation is virtually non-existent in windowless bathrooms. As for the restaurant, (I have been here for forty years) I must say that it has suffered a marked deterioration: the food is not up to what you spend. In addition, the unprofessional waitstaff, particularly some waitresses, are not very professional. It's a real shame, because we were very disappointed. Given that prices are not at all low, a level of service is expected to match what is paid.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
