Beau Rivage Hotel

A lovely stay on the banks of the lake. The hotel is situated in such a lovely position on the lake with gorgeous views. The reception team were very friendly and checked us in promptly and with care. The rooms were large and spotlessly clean. We didn’t dine in the hotel but had some drinks in the bar later in the evening. I would highly recommend the cocktail menu. Bar & restaurant staff were nice. The large rooms and comfortable beds were a real treat. A bit of a lack of toiletries for a 5 star establishment, only shower gel. In room coffee machine was good, but was an exact replica of a 4 star hotel we stayed in the night before in Bern (hotel lacks a finer attention to detail in this way). My only real negative was that I disappointed in the lack of pillows in the room or a pillow menu. The view is outstanding and the customer service is warm 😌

What a wonderful hotel in a brilliant location, in fact,one of the best we have stayed in. The bedroom was excellent, spacious, clean and a super ensuite. We must mention the housekeeping were really good. The dining room overlooks the lake giving great views. Breakfast had a great choice and dinner at night was so good, with the staff extra special. This is a marvellous hotel,and a great place to stay in Neuchatel

At the reception, only French or English was spoken, no German. It was very tedious. The food was good, but the service was a disaster. The staff did not understand anything when taking orders. We chose 2 wines. We could not pay by the bottle; they stubbornly poured 1 dl into the glass each time and then apparently noted it down. The price charged per glass was Fr. 13.--. The biggest audacity happened on Saturday evening. We had an aperitif in the garden. 3 bottles of white wine were still half full and were then served with dinner. For these already paid-for bottles, they tried to charge us another 8 times Fr. 13.-- per glass poured. We refused to pay that. The staff's mood changed, we paid for the red wine bottles we drank and were almost thrown out. Prices in the garden are simply a rip-off. 3dl Rivella Fr. 8.50, 5dl draft Moretti Fr. 13.--. We were over 40 people, none of us are coming back!
