Best Western Hotel Rothaus

The room was in need of renovation and dirty (there were a few long black hairs in the bathroom + see pictures). For the good length and the relatively low price, I do not expect a freshly renovated hotel room. Cleanliness should be standard. The breakfast was good and the staff was friendly.

I have stayed twice in this hotel. It is a short walk from the Luzern Train station. The reception is very friendly. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The Breakfast buffet offers something for everyone. The Peruvian restaurant that is on the ground floor of the hotel is excellent.

Whilst this is not a 5 star hotel, you have everything you need. Yes it’s basic but it’s spotlessly clean with friendly polite staff. The rooms have tv, tea/coffee facilities, comfy beds and bathroom with soap, shower gel/shampoo and soft towels. The breakfast is mainly continental style but you can have hot sausages with scrambled eggs; a good selection of yogurt, fruit, rolls, croissants, jams etc. This hotel is perfect for weekend stays. 10 minutes walk from the train station, old town and Chapel Bridge or there are regular buses from the bus stop just around the corner from the hotel for a 3 stop ride. Only downside is this hotel doesn’t appear to cater for accessible needs
