Rebstock

We booked a room for two nights for a wedding in Lucerne. We had to cancel the first night at short notice, and the arrival time for the next morning was discussed. Upon our arrival the next morning, we were told that the entire booking had been canceled. Since the hotel was fully booked, we received a single room with a small bed for the two of us, which was only ready in the afternoon. Thus, we could not even change in the room for the wedding. Instead of accommodating us in any way price-wise, the hotel said that if the single room did not suit us, we should look for another hotel. Then, when we could check into the room, I stepped on a protruding nail on the floor!! Lastly, the bathtub: The edge is so extremely high that one can only get out without falling by holding on well, as one must almost climb out.

Really easy to find - 10 mins walk from the station. Was worried about the bells but once the window was shut we could barely hear them and actually they were quite handy to know the time. The room was large and a really comfy bed but the room was a little dark but didn't ruin our stay. Staff were so friendly and the two women on reception helped us with our luggage upon arrival. We were on the 4th floor - the stairs to the lift weren't an issue, it was only one lot of stairs. Food was delicious in the restaurant - we were there for 4 nights and ate in restaurant once. Breakfasts were very good - excellent selection and freshly cooked eggs either scrambled, poached and the loveliest crispy bacon. Very happy with our choice of hotel. Just a tiniest niggle that the room was quite dark - but it also meant it stayed cool and we did have a view of the church if we looked left and the lake and mountains if we looked right!

We stayed here in June 2026 on the top floor - room 165. While the view from the balcony in our room was amazing, there were two problems that prevent me from recommending this hotel. It was 77 degrees while we were there and the top floor room DID NOT have AC. There are no screens on the windows so we couldn't sleep with the doors/windows open because of my husband's bee allergies. A warm night sleep for this price is uncomfortable. Also, the WIFI works in the lobby but DOES NOT WORK in our room. It would work for a few minutes and then go out. This is unacceptable in a city the size of Luzern. So, if you want AC and Wifi in your room, don't stay here!
