Sorell City Weissenstein Hotel

We stayed at this Sorell boutique hotel in St. Gallen and found it to be a very comfortable and well-located option for a short stay. The hotel is about a 5 to 10 minute walk from the cathedral and main tourist attractions, making it easy to explore the town while still being in a quieter setting. There isn’t much immediately around the hotel itself, aside from a couple of nearby restaurants, so most activity requires a short walk into the center. The rooms are a real highlight: very spacious by European standards, modern, clean, and comfortable. We had a corner unit with windows on two sides, which brought in a lot of natural light and made the space feel even more open. Each room also includes thoughtful touches like a yoga mat with instructions for a basic sun salutation, as well as a coffee machine with coffee and tea. The beds were comfortable overall. There is also a pillow menu with a wide range of options, which is a nice feature—and useful, as the default pillows were quite soft. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The lobby area, where breakfast is served, is airy and inviting, and the breakfast itself was good and well presented. It’s a pleasant space to start the day. In terms of logistics, parking is available about half a block away in an uncovered, tandem lot for approx. $21 per night, which is reasonably convenient. One thing to note is that reception is only open until 10 PM, so late arrivals require a bit of planning. Overall, a solid boutique hotel offering comfort, space, and a convenient location - particularly appealing if you value larger, modern rooms in a walkable part of town.

My husband and I stayed at your hotel for a week and had a wonderful experience. The stay was extremely pleasant and enjoyable, largely because of the outstanding staff. Everyone was warm, professional, and genuinely attentive. Every request we had was handled quickly, efficiently, and always with a smile. The level of service truly made our stay special. Special thanks to Noa, Mara, Mubarak, Ida, and Poon for their kindness and attentiveness. We would also like to thank Bernie for her warmth and efficiency—she made our breakfast experience especially enjoyable each morning. We are very grateful for the excellent hospitality and would be happy to return.

Modern hotel in the center of St. Gallen, two minutes walk from the old town. The rooms are very large and comfortable. Small outdoor parking on site (fees apply but cheaper than public parking). Good breakfast.
