Die Krone

During our recent visit to Switzerland we booked this hotel directly over the internet without experiencing this product beforehand and I must admit this hotel blow me away, with location, presentation and professionalism. The location was private and a little outside to where we were planning to get married. The building is 400 years old and the team have kept the character of hotel but also modernised it so that you get the best of both worlds. The hotel has kept its original staircase which is very steep and could be a challenge for the elderly, but the hotel has installed a lift to overcome this. We booked ourselves into the Junior Suite that did not disappoint at all, the modern lighting mixed with a traditional ceiling and timber floors made the hotel room feel very welcoming. The bathroom was huge, the shower ran the length of the bathroom. Traveling internationally I would have liked a little more bench space but this is just personal preference. The suite also had a sperate WC which was an advantage during the stay. The Suite also had a good size sitting area in front of floor to ceiling picture of Marie Antoinette. The view from the room was to die for, waking up every morning and looking out the window over Lake Constance was a great way to start the day. The Hotel restaurant was small and relaxing, it was not oversized like others. We only had breakfast here, they served the traditional European Breakfast that was fresh and well presented. The best thing about this restaurant was the deck that stood over the Rhine River. One could laze around and watch the day go by and not care, as the running water passes you by and sunshine’s on you one just relaxes and enjoys the company one has around them. The staff’s presentation was on point, always professional and well informed this followed through the whole hotel, clean in all public areas and the lighting was warm and welcoming.

Had coffe on the waterside terrace in late morning. GREAT! Dinner in the early after a wonderful boat ride and hike. Also GREAT. Wonderful fish dishes, very nicely presented. The terrace right on the water, shaded, couldn't be better. The rooms are very nice, big, comfortable, brandnew modern bathrooms. Looking forward to going there again!

A secret hotel just onthe River Rhine. You can see ducks feeding themselves.People are riding canoes. Very clean and modern large big rooms.In the border of Germany and Switzerland . A good brake before Fakuma Fair .
