A disgrace at the price charged, they are clearly making fun of the clientele, or rather pigeons than customers, for that matter. And for once we did not go through Booking and booked directly and will therefore not be able to leave a review there. Which I will do on Google and Tripadvisor. Nothing welcoming, starting with the arrival steps with heavy suitcases, pure joy, the reception is not welcoming at all, the 2 floor mats are dirty and largely worn out (they have since been removed and I hope thrown away given their condition), room 301 is impersonal and nothing about it is pleasant, the breakfast is low-end industrial, the eggs are category 2, a disgrace for an establishment that claims to be 4 stars. Do not look for a bar, there is none, a mini fridge in a very small lounge where you serve yourself and write down what you consume. There is parking, yes, or rather an agreement with the Migros supermarket, not very close, be aware of that, fortunately it is never full and we found a parking spot there for the 3 days We were moved to a different room for the last night, we don't know why, but it turned out to be a good thing, since room 204 is more pleasant. Even though the showerhead that was replaced no longer fits in the holder, which is not practical, some thought on the subject would have been wise to adapt the right model. The only positive points are the view of Lake Maggiore (a meager consolation compared to the number of negative points), the rooms are clean and the bedding is comfortable, and the existence of the parking lot. This hotel deserves 3 stars at best. What a disappointment; reviews really should be verified objectively and more seriously by people who know what a 4-star hotel is and the comfort and quality one is entitled to expect from it. We were in Zermatt just before in a 4-star hotel that was worth 5, as everything there was perfect. So, objectively, look for another place to stay; this one is expensive for what it offers. Based on the reviews & ratings of this place we felt tempted to book it. Unfortunately our experience wasn’t great! We had a confirmed reservation when we called the receptionist to check how to reach the hotel she insisted that we don’t have a reservation! We told her ok just tell us how to reach she said no because you don’t have a reservation with us. We reach after carrying our luggage’s for 20 steps (extremely inconvenient) and a 15 minutes walk because we got dropped off far away from the hotel; and we find our reservation! She didn’t even apologize. Unfortunately when we were checking out she did the same thing! She doesn’t want our driver to come in front of the hotel she told him the clients don’t want you to come in! Very unfriendly receptionist, unhelpful, and totally unprofessional (unfortunately same girls at check in and check out) I asked her also to keep 1 piece of luggage 10 ten minutes until my family come down she also refused. Check out date: 16/8/26 For the bedrooms: the decor is very old and very business like or hospital like (it can work well for both) but not for a summer vacation by the lake. Although the rooms were clean, and the bed was relatively comfortable. Breakfast: a poor one, scrambled eggs without a drop of butter which made it very unpleasant to eat, no option to order something for extra. We didn’t want to pay more for the spa when we saw the poor service that we were offered so we don’t know about it; although we would have loved to try it since we’ve been on trails & hikes for the last week in grindelwald & wengen. So to sum. It up over rated & overpriced. Ahh forgot to tell you about the cringy note that they leave in front of your room door saying that check out time is at 11h! Which of course we did because honestly we couldn’t stand spending an extra moment there.

While the property is clean and well maintained, the room we were in was absolutely not at the standard of a 4-star hotel: cheap and ugly furnitures and decoration, really cheap soap, handheld shower, no slippers nor bathrobe, and above all a small and pretty uncomfortable bed. The lady at the reception was not particularly friendly neither. They probably got the 4 stars thanks to the small pool / sauna / fitness, but the hotel itself is rather a 3-star.
