Marriott Platinum who stayed here in May. You can tell right away when a hotel is very well run, and this one is. Check-in took about two minutes, anything I asked for got sorted without a fuss, and the staff actually seem to like working there. The room was spotless. Not just made up nicely, properly clean. The food in the restaurant was top notch. Sandro is a first class hotelier. The standard obviously starts with him, and the rest of the team follows it. I'll be back.

An absolutely exceptional experience from start to finish. Giardina Lago sits in a stunning setting right on Lake Maggiore, with views that make the whole meal feel like a special occasion. The location is perfectly central too — an easy trip from both Tenero and Locarno, so it's an ideal stop whether you're staying nearby or coming from a bit further afield. The food was outstanding, every dish was thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor, and it was clear the kitchen takes real pride in what they serve. But what elevated this from a great meal to a truly memorable one was the service. The staff was warm, attentive, and fully bilingual, so despite having no Italian, we never once felt out of place or struggled to communicate. They took wonderful care of us throughout the visit, anticipating our needs and making sure every detail was right. Beautiful food, a gorgeous lakeside setting, and genuinely caring staff. It's hard to ask for more. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the Locarno/Tenero area, whether or not you speak Italian. We'll be back.
