Dellangelo Hotel

We stayed here years ago. This spring I returned with my students. We received a fantastic offer: rooms for three or four people, and single rooms for the two teachers. Two of the student rooms were in the main building, and two were in the annex. All the rooms were very spacious, the ones in the main building being brighter and larger, but the ones in the annex were still plenty big enough. We were familiar with the annex from our last visit but were pleasantly surprised that we were also allowed to book rooms in the main building for the students. There's a TV and free internet. One room even had a lovely balcony. The single rooms were on the smaller side, but we were really only there to sleep. They also had a TV and a desk. The days were very hot, and the rooms got quite warm at night. But there was a fan in the closet in every room. The location is fantastic, right on the edge of the Piazza Grande. Everything is within easy walking distance. A bus to Ascona is just a 3-minute walk away. The train station is a 10-15 minute walk away, and the lake is even closer. It's an older hotel, but the value for money was truly excellent. And not just the price. All the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly during booking and throughout our stay. The hotel restaurant (great pizzas) also had a special offer for our dinner. All guests also receive a 10% discount at the restaurant. It's open late into the evening if you want to have a drink. Unfortunately, there were other students staying at the hotel. And some were quite noisy. Understandably, we were asked if they were our students – but they were completely quiet. We checked on them regularly during the night. It seems the teacher didn't check on the other group. A shame. I hope we'll be welcome back next time. Because what this place offers is truly fantastic. Great staff, great location, great price.

I had an excellent family stay at Hotel dell’Angelo in beautiful Locarno. The location is simply unbeatable as it is directly on Piazza Grande, allowing you to enjoy the atmosphere, restaurants and views without having to travel. The hotel combines traditional charm with comfortable and well-kept rooms. Everything was clean and tidy, and the atmosphere is welcoming and authentic. The staff was friendly and attentive at all times, always willing to help with recommendations about the area. In addition, the value for money is very good considering its privileged location. It is certainly an excellent option for those who want to stay in the center and live the Locarno experience to the fullest. I would come back without hesitation.

The hotel does not hand over the Ticino Ticket on arrival. According to them, it is up to the client to ask for it, which is not the custom in a hotel. I traveled by train and paid for my tickets when I learned on the last day of my stay that with the Ticino Ticket it would have been free!! Information taken, this is a recurring situation.
