Prime location by the train station and a really nice hotel that more than met our expectations. The rooms are very nice, large enough, and the sanitary facilities are also very clean and everything works. Especially worth mentioning are the great breakfast buffet, the great service, and the heartwarming hospitality of Giuseppe, the friendly and charming gentleman at the reception on the night of our arrival. A hotel with obviously many rather older regular guests. Located a few minutes from the Lugano train station. A (more expensive) room with a balcony and lake view is worth it. The room is clean and spacious. We slept wonderfully. The breakfast is very classic. What stands out is the extremely nice, friendly, and helpful staff. Also, the staff at the reception was exceptionally nice.

Stayed at Hotel Federale for 4 nights with family. This review is to particularly appreciate the excellent hospitality of the staff. With little kids, we often needed things/favors and the staff was absolutely amazing and went out of their way to help out in any way possible. Front desk exceptionally helpful, especially sharing great tips for directions and places to visit with kids. Shout out to Giuseppe in particular who was so patient and accommodating of our odd hours requests, always available to help with a smile. One of the lady servers during the buffet breakfast was also super helpful and lovely, helping us out with getting kids stuff cleaned every morning.
