Villa Sassa Hotel, Residence and Spa

Beautiful views and wonderful pool area, tasty breakfast with prosecco, room was very clean but a bit outdated. The pool was the highlight of our holiday.

Unfortunately, a very disappointing stay! There does not seem to be any competent staff at the reception. No recommendations for excursions, no help with pickup from the train station. When asking where the booked hotel shuttle is, you are left on hold, and that happens repeatedly until you lose your temper. No apology for being forgotten. Something like this happens due to sloppy information in the email. Also, no fresh or other drinks at the reception. The hotel is very dated and needs a thorough renovation. The shutters in the room are broken. They cannot be closed, and this in the summer during the heat. The awning is also in poor condition. The actually beautiful terrace is unkempt and loveless in appearance. The entire property looks worn out. The hotel is not a villa but consists of residential buildings, so to speak. Therefore, it is an endlessly long walk from the entrance to the room. Our rooms were very noisy. There is currently a construction site across the street, and this makes the noise situation 100% worse. The rooms have an Ikea style and are tasteless. Unfortunately, the photos found on the hotel's website do not correspond to the actual conditions. The indoor pool is also not available to hotel guests, as private groups train there. I was not assigned an appointment. The breakfast was good and the service was nice. Lugano is very nice, but I will no longer choose the "Villa Sassa" as a hotel.

Excellent hotel in Lugano. It is easily accessible from the Lugano train station by bus. I spent two nights in this hotel and I do not regret it. The staff is professional and kind. The room is spacious and the bed is comfortable. From the garden there is a magnificent view of the city and the lake.
