Please please please. Whatever you do don’t stay there. ‘Since 1967’ they proudly claim on the front and I can confirm that this is probably true, as the rooms and furniture have most likely not been upgraded since then. On top of that the room was dirty and the shower not clean. Ah yes the shower head also didn’t work. Unfortunately the dated and super small room is not even the worst. The staff and especially the people in the office are rude, unfriendly and terrible. It all started by us booking a family room that was meant to have 5 beds and fit a family of 5. On arrival there was only 4 beds in our room. We arrived at 14.30. Half an hour before the official check-in, but they just said that there was no other room and handed us an extra pillow and said: ‘One child just has to sleep in the double bed with you.’ The staff in the hotel only spoke Italian and passed the phone to us. We were then promised that we could change the following afternoon. In the morning, we wanted to organise the room swap but no one was at reception even when we buzzed the bell for the office no one answered. What were we meant to do? There was nowhere to leave our bags safely so we left them in our room and went about our day. We returned just after 15.00. Again the official check-in time. Again no one was in the office or at reception. So we called the office only to be told that now they are full again and that they can’t give us the bigger room they promised yesterday! They were extremely rude on the phone blaming us for not having ordered an extra bed. ‘If you travel with 5 people you always have to order an extra bed!’ they said. No I don’t. Especially if the room I book says it comes with 5 beds! After a number of phone calls and a 45min wait (they told us that someone was coming to the property in 5mins, which they didn’t), we insisted to get our money back for the other two nights we booked. Eventually we did get our money back and have found a much nicer and cheaper place. I was shocked how rude the staff were to us and will never ever stay there again. And I hope you don’t either! There are so many better places in the area!
