Hotel Vatel

I cannot recommend the restaurant at all. We were there as guests for dinner. We were served our three-course meal without any explanation of what the food was. Then I was served a quail as the main course, which was completely raw inside; this was the most disgusting meal I have ever been served. If I could give less than one star, I would do so.

Very disappointed with our stay at this hotel. On our second night, the air conditioning broke down while it was extremely hot in the room, to the point that we had to leave the hotel at 11pm with our baby, without even being able to spend the night there. Despite this situation clearly beyond our control, no commercial gestures or suitable solutions were offered to us, and the night was still charged in full. We understand that a breakdown can happen, but what is most disappointing is the lack of consideration and empathy for the situation. Unfortunately, we will not set foot in this property again and would not recommend it. Very bad experience and huge disappointment.

A 4-star hotel with Formula 1 soundproofing. We were delighted to come and spend a weekend here but we quickly disillusioned. Talks from room neighbours cross the ventilations and, if you wish to sleep, you have to wait until the discussion ends. I thank the night watchman who allowed us to change rooms at 23:00. The new room was much quieter than the first one until 5am...The couple next door decided to loudly show how happy they were to be together, for at least 30 minutes. Following that awful night, we decided to leave and get refunded the second night. Our request was received coldly but we were refunded "exceptionally". It's good timing, we're never coming back. No empathy, no humanity at the morning reception, unworthy of such a "high standard" hotel. Management would do well to review its hospitality policy and make some soundproofing. If you are visiting Martigny, avoid this hotel, which has a lot of gaps in its gold packaging.
