ADMIRAL

Amazing hotel. The service is outstanding. Breakfast was excellent. Rooms are modern and cleaned. The location is very close to the train station and to all shops. Our room 305 had a great view but on the train tracks. It didn’t bother us but it might bother others. I would stay there again without even searching for other options.

Our five-night experience here was just terrific due primarily to the front desk staff. Notably, Ms. Victoria, Ms. Margarida, and Mr. Norberto. Each day they asked about our plans and offered solid advice. Given their diverse backgrounds we learned much of other European nations which adds to our experience. We even tracked the friendly World Cup rivalry within the group. The hotel room was well prepared and promptly cleaned daily by a very pleasant woman from Italy. (Regrettably we had difficulty conversing, (my bad and, I missed her name), but she was always delightful.) We were lucky enough to have a very nice view of the local mountains and the windows opened nicely so the cool summer evenings were a treat. The room was pretty quiet during the night. We did hear a little street noise in the evening along with the train, but these were not a distraction. The hotel is right across the street from stops for the two bus routes which made it easy to get underway for each day's adventure. It's just a quick 5-minute ride back to the train station for departure. Bus service in Zermatt is free and all electric...very nice. Walking, you are just 5 min from the main drag. A COOP there had all we needed for our lunches on the daily hikes. In the evening we found a city recreation area close by where we watched volleyball, tennis, and football on extended summer evenings. Oh, and the Zermatt Marathon, too. A self-service laundromat is two stops away on the bus. And one ski lift is quite literally just down a block. If you purchase the included Breakfast your choice of custom prepared eggs is coordinated by Lilly or Carlos along with a reasonable continental breakfast. Our only comment would be that some days the offerings seemed to be a little past prime.

Very good room (Double L) with pleasant decor and balcony and cleaning service. Very attentive staff at reception and breakfast room. The location is excellent. My score is 9 out of 10 only because on one occasion when going to have breakfast we arrived after a group had left that seemed to have wiped everything out and the replenishment was limited. I recommend it.
