Beautiful hotel with cabin style rooms, gives a ski lodge feel; lots of woodwork and fabulous, bit quirky decor. Smooth check-in, friendly staff. Spacious room with comfortable beds and sitting area, elegant furniture. Our room had a balcony with view of the Matterhorn, Separate toilet and bath area. Toilet area had a small sink and a door. Bath area had a double sinks and large bathtub. Molton brown products: hand wash, bath gel, shampoo, conditioner. Hair dryer. Robes and slippers. Kettle with tea bags and coffee packets. Group dinner in restaurant: Exceptional decor. Staff all friendly, very professional. Salad bar had good variety. Entrees were not bad. Breakfast Buffet: Beautiful setting in glass covered outside seating area. Inside seating also. Tea/Coffee served at table; if servers are busy then get in line for the one coffee machine. Adequate food, bread, juice offerings. Located 5 mins from the train station and one block from the Main Street.

The breakfasts were perfectly adequate and the staff were friendly. Our room had a balcony overlooking the courtyard with views of the Matterhorn. It had eclectic panelling and was very comfortable. The whirlpool bath added to the atmosphere. We had one meal in the hotel restaurant and the fondue was very good.

stayed at the alex hotel for a week on a recent ski vacation and loved everything about it. great location, comfortable room, wonderful interior with plenty of of room to socialize. chef is outstanding with amazing food everynite. staff is super nice. can't say enough other than this is the place to stay. highly recommend!!!!
