Ambassador Zermatt

My son and I already know Zermatt; the choice of this hotel was largely made because of the rooms and the possibility of having two separate beds. Charming receptionist, room in order and clean. In the evening, the food was very good. The waitresses were cheerful and very welcoming, but none of them spoke German fluently (and even less so French). It's a good thing I'm trilingual... Will I have to start learning Russian, Spanish, and Korean?

Our room was just what my family of 4 needed: a bedroom for parents, a bedroom for two teens, and a living room with balcony. Everything was very clean. Breakfast was enough to fuel us until lunch. Location was very convenient to the train station, and we were also able to walk everywhere in town. The only thing I wish were different is that the bar has limited hours. We never saw it open. We would have enjoyed a drink at the hotel if the bar were open, such as during the World Cup semi-final.

We only planned one night in this hotel but we will definitely return. Everything is perfect: the warm welcome at the reception, the quality of the family room (size, cleanliness, layout), breakfast (copious and delicious) and room for skis and boots. In addition, the hotel is only a few minutes’ walk from the main train station and the Gornergrat Railway.
