Romantik Hotel Julen

Most importantly this hotel has individual in room AC unit. Zermatt can get quite warm in summer months. That is the main reason we booked this hotel. The toilet even comes with a built in bidet spray. This is normally only in Asia mid-range to luxury hotels. We had their special rate thus we could only stay for 2 nights. Breakfast and Half Board were average. We had higher expectation because they have a reputation for having the best food. We disagree. Room is small but it comes with a balcony with a view of the Matterhorn. Overall we like this hotel but because its regular rate is super pricey, we may book a suite at the hotel across from it... Bellerive. The only downside is only a handful of hotels in Zermatt comes with air conditioning. Maybe visit in late May or late September. We still love Zermatt although construction is everywhere and tons of people too.

Great team around the host P. Julen, who make the vacation a special experience. Room facilities incl. SPA area absolutely correspond to a 4-star plus rating.

Charming place, cozy, comfortable, clean, nice decor, hearty and varied breakfast, transfer system to the taxi stand very much appreciated (especially on a day like today when it is raining buckets), professional, attentive staff. I really appreciated the birthday card placed on my table at breakfast this morning 🙏, well located for visiting Zermatt on foot. So yes, the rates are high, but that is what you should expect in Switzerland. I recommend this hotel.
