The location is ideal, on the banks of the Rhine. The balcony with the view of the Rhine is great. Easily accessible both by car and by public transport. The staff is friendly, helpful, and very professional. The bedding is comfortable. Breakfast is good; some gluten-free products would be ideal. The only "negative" point: the decor is a bit "old-fashioned," without it being truly problematic.

Due to a cancelled flight, we missed our river cruise sailing, and so a group of us were booked into this hotel for 1 night. As previous reviews had said - sadly not read by the person who made our booking - the lack of aircon made this hotel completely unsuitable due to the ridiculously high temperature of the bedrooms. Even with the window open and the desk fan on all night, not a single one of our group got any sleep. What a shame, as the position of the hotel in Basel is perfect!
