Olympia Hotel Zurich

We booked a room... The guy at the front desk is not pleasant, it is very, very difficult to park the car near the hotel. There were a bunch of ants in the room and they had to change our room... To a nearby hotel called Stoller (a hotel that I rate 8/10) at 12:30 AM. I do not recommend it.

Charging 260.-, refusing the overnight stay, and then keeping every cent – it hardly gets more customer-unfriendly than that. There was no refund whatsoever. Neither the accommodation costs nor the breakfast already paid for, which we naturally never consumed. Instead, we had to organize other accommodation late at night at our own expense. We paid 260.- CHF in advance and were still put out on the street in the evening, just because we did not have our physical Swiss passports with us. We could have fully proven our identity with the IDs on our phones as well as photos of the passports. The booking conditions only state that a valid ID must be presented – nowhere does it say that it must be physically present. A solution was not even attempted - for example, we offered multiple times to email the documents immediately. Absolutely unacceptable for us and definitely the last time.

Warning: Deposit Scam I stayed three nights and only used the room to sleep — no facilities, no extra services. Despite this, my deposit was taken and never returned. The staff refused to provide any maintenance invoice, damage report, or written justification, and also refused to connect me with a manager. The behavior was rude and clearly intentional, especially once they knew I was leaving Zurich the next morning. This is not a misunderstanding. It is a deceptive practice that strongly resembles a deposit scam. What should have been a happy visit to Zurich was seriously spoiled by this experience. ⚠️ Strong warning: Do not pay a deposit at this hotel unless you are prepared to lose it. Transparency and accountability are completely lacking. I will not return, and I strongly advise others to avoid this place.
