Only cost me NT$1300 per night, pretty good price with breakfast. Location is prime, just 3 mins walking distance from MRT Sandou station, which is just 20 mins ride from Zouying High Speed Rail. There are 3-4 department stores nearby, eateries and shopping districts. Room size is reasonable, basic shower room and toiletries. Not bad for one night stay, though smoke smell in the lobby and canteen area.

I chose 2 double bed room and stayed for 4 nights with breakfast provided. Around USD70 per night. The room ia clean and big. It is so spacious that enough for 4 persons to stay. The hotel provides personal use, including slippers. Breakfast is fair, Chinese style. The hotel provides 24h drinks and dim sum for free. It is a considerate service. The staffs are very nice. Location is good while it takes 5 mins walk to the metro (三多商圈. Sanduo Shopping District Station R8). 10 mins to the shopping malls and night market in different direction. There are many small Japanese restaurants. I tired this one- Amazing Grace 奇譽恩典. The food is fresh and not pricy at all. We went to a seafood restaurant 阿忠海產料理 next to the KAOHUISUNG Main Library 高雄圖書總館. The seafood is fresh too. It is around 15-20mins from the hotel. The Main Library is modern and we went to the top and saw the night view :) There is a big Carrefour 家樂福 30mins away from the hotel. It is worth to have a walk. I will recommend this hotel.

The Royal Group is a popular motel chain in South Taiwan. This branch on Xing Zhong Road Section 2 is only five minutes walk from Sanduo metro station, less than 15 minutes from the Kaohsiung Airport. The hotel is popular for solo male travellers from Taiwan and Mainland China. I stayed two nights for weekend trip. It is Hong King school holidays but I did not see any families with children. The location is in the older Sanduo shopping district. I booked non smoking double room but the room smelled of smoke. I felt the room is not very clean. It is not cheap for Kaohsiung summer standard as I paid USD68 per night through agent. The room comes with breakfast but there are no other facility or services at this three star motel/hotel. There is no housekeeping so your rubbish is not cleared, your towels are not changed and your supplies are not refilled. You won't notice if staying for one night and can tolerate if staying only two nights like me. Five star hotel like Han Hsien with bigger, better rooms and facilities like pool and gym, bellboys, housekeeping and room service cost USD88 per night for summer. So at this Royal Group you are paying higher price for location near metro. Besides no housekeeping, no security for elevator and poor wifi in the room. Signal always disappear and speed so slow it feels like 1G. To use wifi, go to the ground floor cafe where there are self service cold drinks all day. Other snacks are popcorn, hardboiled eggs and steamed buns. The only other good point of this hotel besides the convenient location next to Sanduo subway station is the long breakfast hours till 1pm. Mini buffet from 7am-10am and set meal with toast from 10am to 1pm. Check in time 3pm later than the 2pm in most hotels. There are a few KTVs near this hotel. Sogo, Mitukoshi are on the opposite side; FE21 Dayuan same side as the hotel. No view from my room.
