With a bit of imagination this hotel could be amazing. However, as it currently stands, the rooms are clean and the ones facing the lake have a great view. Breakfast is nothing to write home about and don’t expect an early check in or late check out. If I was coming here again I would probably go for the Wyndham on the other side of the lake.

We only spent one night at the Hotel del Lago and absolutely loved it. The location is great, next to the pier and close to restaurants and shops. The staff spoke English quite well and were very helpful. We used their bicycles to go on the path which has to be one of the most beautiful bike rides anywhere in the world. Our eighth-floor room had a gorgeous view of the lake. In the afternoon, we noticed that the air conditioner didn’t seem to be working so we called the front desk around 7 PM and they sent two guys to fix it. Within an hour, the temperature was much cooler. Our room was a little bit worn, but because Sun Moon Lake is popular year-round, it must be difficult to find time to renovate. With the stunning view and so much time spent outdoors, it doesn’t really matter. We particularly loved the large Taiwanese buffet breakfast which was a real highlight. At the front desk, a young woman named Poe helped us a lot. In addition, the friendly young man (who was like their concierge) helped us with our luggage and use of their bicycles which was great. We wished we’d had more time at Sun Moon Lake and if we are fortunate enough to return, without a doubt we would stay here again.

The reception staff behaved high-handedly and uneducated, not to say aggressively,. they took our needs as zenr a joke. A chair in the room or external noise.. bottled water was not offered to us either...anything seems like a world here!!!!! I did not recommend it, reception, apate ee no help, laugh ee you in your face🥲
