Greenpeak Holiday Villa

If you are looking for cities, party, shopping...this is for you. We love this place because it sits in the middle of national park land, managed by a family, very friendly atmosphere, beautiful grounds, onsite outdoor and indoor hot springs, sauna, swimming pool, picnic areas, ferns, trees, fenshui....close to walking trails through rain forests, with wild gingers (aroma of ginger flowers...so delicate!), azaleas, etc...Though we plan for dry season, it was still raining almost everday in October. However, high season booking for this hotel is Dec through Mar, we were told by staff...because coolness and Chinese New Year. Room is basic, can use more updates. But we spent more time outdoors, under porches watching the rain, or fog rolling in, listening to birds, soaking in hot springs or sauna or hikingin the rain then come back soaking in the hot springs. Great place for rest, relaxation and recuperation. There is free wifi, good speed. There is onsite cook and restaurant. Free breakfast is simple Taiwanese dishes, non greasy, some vegetarian choices. Sauna and hot sprngs are part of the hotel so you can soak all you want....we were told hot springs in Yangmingshan is the best in Taiwan. Bus 1717 (Taipei-Jinshan) stops in front of the property. The bus ride is an experience in itself. By bus, Greenpeak is 45 minutes from Taipei, and 20 minutes from Jinshan.

Greenpeak hotel is the only and a budge hotel and restaurant beside Ba-Yien villagte. We came here (organized tour) for lunch and hot-spring, not for accommodation. Their table meal was delicious. Food ingredients were fresh, some were local. Native-chicken soup is a must-try on Yangmingshan. They have private rooms, indoor public pools(one for male and one for female, nude bathing), and outdoor public pools(swimming suit required). A hot-spring ticket costs NT$200, and customers are allowed to use whichever type of pool they want to use. Every NT$500 spent on the meal, one person is free to use the hot-spring facilities. Their hot-spring is a carbonic acid and sulfur spring, and the facility is reasonably clean. The entrance to Ba-Yien village is just opposite to the hotel. It's a beautiful historical terrace farming village on Yangmingshan. There is also a wild hot-spring nearby,
