Wonstar Hotel Songshan

First the good stuff: The location was ideal, on a Main Street and great for getting around the City and Taipei. The complimentary items in the room was always well stocked. The staff were very nice and always polite. A good place if you're on a tight budget and all you want to do is just use it as a base to rest. Now the not-so-good stuff: The hotel is very tired and is need of modernisation. Our room wasn't very clean and there was a lot of dust on the floor under and behind the bed, looked as if wasn't properly cleaned in months. There was dust on the glass shelf and what appeared like cigarette ash beside the kettle. The sink was leaking and despite reporting it to the staff it was not repaired. We had to boil the kettle several times to have a bath as the hot water only appeared to be on once per day. The carpets throughout the hotel was shampooed but they only cleaned around the furniture. Breakfast: this was a traditional Taiwan breakfast so don't expect the 'Full-English' or any American stuff.

Firstly, location is gd . 1. Near to 2 MRT , 1 is BLUE LINE Hou Shan Bi, 1 is BROWN LINE Song Shan. Fr the blue line, it can lead you to many popular shopping areas. 2. Near to Song Shan Railway station. 3. Near to Rao He Night Market. 4. It is located inside Wu Fen Pu wholesale centre 5. Theres a KTv nearby 6. There's a 24hr convenient stall right below the hotel 7. A 24hr massage place opp the hotel. 8. Able to grab taxi at all time just below the hotel. It is not a grand hotel but with that price, it is consider gd to me. Nice and friendly staff. If you would just like to find a place to sleep in the night, somewhere accessible and affordable, This hotel will be highly recommended to you. Take care, enjoy.

I would avoid this hotel. We stayed here for three nights and wish we had booked elsewhere. The hotel is old and outdated. The bathroom had a sewer gas smell in it quite often. Not vented properly I would suspect. The breakfast was terrible. Though it came free with the room, we only ate there once. That was enough. Faucets were dirty. Things need to be updated and changed in order to rate it any higher than "poor."
