We stayed here in 2026 5 nights at the end of March and one night early April in a Deluxe room. Both the outside of the building and the lobby look very nice in Art Deco style. Knowing that the Landis (with 209 rooms) is one of the best 5* hotels in Taipei, the room is disappointing: the room has a very strong incense smell. Instead of a wooden floor the room has brown carpet. Unfortunately the windows cannot be opened and the outside of the windows are dirty and they look like they need maintenance/repairs , they even look like they will fall apart any moment. The area where the hotel is located is less modern than we expected and most buildings in the area look old and in need of repairs and maintenance. However, there are several restaurants within walking distance. Although the room is spacious and has a desk with a chair, a couch and chair and 2 low tables, there is hardly any storage space. The room has airconditioning , a shower and a bath, 2 tv’s, an iron and ironing board, a safe, a watercooker, a minibar and a coffee machine. The hotel has water dispensers where you can (without any charge) refill your bottles with drinking water. Shower is good, the bed and WiFi are excellent. Breakfast buffet is disappointing for us, the focus is on Asian guests. The last morning breakfast was VERY disappointing. Staff in the hotel are friendly and helpful. The hotel changes foreign currencies into TWD but not TWD back into foreign currencies. Weird and unfriendly.

This is our second time as a family at the Landis. We stayed here about 10 years ago and were blown away by the service, value, room, breakfast, etc. A true 5 star hotel. We could not wait to return. The Landis experience and their spectacular staff were as outstanding as remembered!!! The highlights as always are the staff members who harken to seemingly another era where grandeur and gracious service were conducted with attentiveness, sincerity, & efficiency. We wish to commend Nicholas for immediately receiving us from the uber and taking our luggage into the lobby and ultimately to the room, Jeremy for checking us in so wonderfully, and Jones for storing our luggage, and again Jones & Belinda for helping us take the luggage to the uber. They and all the other staff members seem to work together in a such well coordinated and orchestrated flow that the entire experience feels effortless for all guests. Applause should be given all around. We booked a suite this time and they kindly without charge upgraded us to a two room suite. We were in absolute awe with the rooms - the incredible bathroom with soaking tub & shower, the executive desk, the living room, the adjoining room for our teen son, the beds, the views, the luxurious amenities, etc. The Landis experience in Taipei is truly exceptional and highly recommend this hotel!!! We cannot wait to return and hopefully can stay longer the next time :)

One of our favorite hotels in Asia; we stay here every time we visit Taipei. Landis has been in business for decades, but the rooms are fresh, clean & contemporary. Reception & luggage storage/ handling is first rate. (Call-out to May & lobby crew)! There is a wonderful breakfast buffet to satisfy Chinese, Japanese & Western tastes, attended by a friendly & highly-trained staff. The Brasserie serves excellent French fare (seriously) & Tian Xiang Lou is the hotel's high-end Chinese restaurant. Both rank among the very best in town. We actually celebrated our wedding in the Landis in 1984, but what brings us back year after year is the wonderful, consistent experience. Thanks so much!
