Great experience for great value. The staff is exceptionally friendly, especially the doorman. Great selection for breakfast and the rooms were verh spacious and clean. Would highly recommend.

Booked the executive rooms which are of modern designs of the room as per photos. We were assigned to the one at a higher room. They no longer provide toiletries except for shampoo & shower gel. Hence the bathroom does look alittle empty. Room is comfortable, location is good. There's a bus opposite the hotel that goes direct to Taipei approx an hour which is good for a day trip. It's our first time officially in Taoyuan, most of the sight-seeing locations are actually 'outside' of Taoyuan which taxi rides might take at least 30mins. Traffic conditions are heavy in Taoyuan. As a 5* hotel as proclaimed, perhaps that has set my expectation a little higher but ended up some what disappointment. Old, dated kind of luxury but feels something missing. IMO, perhaps it's just a 4* hotel. Not sure if it's because low-peak, pools & fitness ctr was closed and the whole floor seems eerily quiet. Perhaps it was closed after we made our booking thus unaware of it. Location is the saving grace as a whole. There's a baseball centre / go-kart/entertainment area, just a stone throw away, however it does get very dark in the late night along the street. uber drive back is approx 100TWD

Stayed two nights but mostly out of the hotel. Which was also a good thing since the spa/gym were undergoing renovation. There are convenience stores just across the roads. I think I had a renovated room, so the amenities looked and felt very new and clean. Room decor was ordinary, no painting, just modern. Bathroom amenities were complete, except the shaver didn’t come with shaving cream. No bathrobe was provided, which was a pity. Air con was quiet. Only coffee and earl grey tea were available, no green tea. The safe was spoilt. The disposable slippers were the flimsy type. Breakfast had a fairly decent spread, but we didn’t like the eggs to be pre-prepared and left cold. Essentially there was only one waiter, but I guess I could understand as occupancy was low (I peeked into their guest list for breakfast and it was just 3/4 of a page long). I thought the coffee that came out of the machine was weak. There was a nice fridge with lots of other drinks and juices - that’s smart! (If there’s no fresh juice, at least there is plenty of packet juices, even soya).
