I spent 8 nights here over Solar New Year's because my usual hotel on Nana Soi 8 was fully booked and I wanted to revisit the Silom / Saladang area. The property is situated on a quiet soi, a ten-minute walk from Saladaeng BTS station. The neighborhood features a number of very interesting cafes, restaurants, and a large street-food market. There were very few guests occupying the property so it was very peaceful and quiet. I really liked the staff; they were extremely friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom were very clean, and comfortable and had far more charm than your typical budget accommodation. The wi-fi, refrigerator, and hot water, worked fine. The bedding, linen, and towels were in good condition. The room had a safe and hot water boiler. Unfortunately, there were really no English-language channels on television. I booked through Agoda at a rate of $30 USD per night, a fair price for this time of year. I would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend it to friends or family.

I have just completed my 4th stay at The Sunrise and it was as good as the first stay. Lovely friendly and homely hotel/residence. The staff are really friendly and everywhere is spotlessly clean. The rooms are perfect, great comfy bed and powerful shower and bathtub. It is a quiet place, i often sleep with the window open (mosquito nets on windows) and i have never been disturbed by any noise here from outside or inside. Excellent location being only a five minute walk from Sala Daeng BTS and Silom MRT. 7/11 and Lawsons just around the corner as well as many great places to eat.

So this is the second time I have stayed here because I had some business at the Canadian Embassy. I like it because there are lots of inexpensive Thai street food type places to eat nearby along with the Silom complex shopping mall if you want western or chain restaurant type food. Because it is close to the Canadian Embassy I have met other Canadians here. The MRT and BTS are a short walk over by the Dusit Thani hotel and once you figure that out you can cross cross the city in minutes. They offer a basic inexpensive breakfast of eggs and toast which you pay for and the whole ambiance here is quite pleasant. I like the older furniture in the rooms and basic TV and WiFi. It is fun to meet other budget conscious travellers and swap tips but this is not quite a backpacker or scrounged type place either. There is no elevator so it is a walk up type place. At night people coming in late can be a bit noisy but it quieted down quickly. I will for sure stay here again. It adds to the whole fun of visiting Bangkok.
