Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Bangkok

I recently stayed at Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit for a total of 47 nights between May and July 2026. I stay at Sheraton Grande as there is no other hotel in Bangkok that comes close to it in terms of service, people, fun, cleanliness, quality and can-do attitute! Housekeeping - I have a dedicated housekeeping lady clean my room on each stay. Her name is Khun Wanida and I like her for A) her attention to detail and B) her friendly, positive and can-do attiture! She always remembers I like only bananas in my room, chocolates during turndown and NOTHING put on my bedside units - I hate it wen they put glasses and bottles of water on the bedside unit, and I hate it when they move the slippers from the front door to the bedside as I have to then walk without slippers to my bedside! But with Wanida, there is nothing to worry about! See her photo! Service & people - The staff are all very friendly. Everyone works very hard to keep each guest happy and their experience elevated! Nearly all of the jobs that the staff do require them to stand on their feet for several hours at a time, yet, they are always happy, smiling and interacting with guests! The newly appointed chef at Rosini, Chef Stefano works incredibly long hours, usually 12-14 hour days and is always positive. I was feeling a little unwell and he would always suggest something like soup to make me feel better. The canapes served in the living room are usually not that interesting, Chef Stefano knows I love the Rosini bread and always offers me a plate, and most of the time I happily oblige! I also enjoy Barsu and the living room a great deal! I love Jazz I am (Jazziam) in the living room! Whilst the entire band is great my favourites are Khun Golf the piano player as he is so versatile and always happy to take requests! I've seen him take requests for songs he has never played and during his break, he has already learnt it without even trying it on the piano! Khun Pang the saxaphone player is my favourite saxaphone player of all time! I've been to other hotels with live music and I've also seen others at Sheraton Grande, but non compare to her! Finally, I love the voice and singing of Athalie, who also has a great personality and has a lot of positive energy! I never miss their performance! Speaking of the living room, I had excellent service from Khun Petch. Whilst I had excellent service, I observed her and I am very impressed with her attitude! She is always walking around looking for opportunities to serve the guests, making sure that they never have to wait too long for a refill! Khun Pai also does a great job! Khun Pam is a superstar, not only does she make me the best banana smoothie, but I was shocked that she worked 14 days straight! She always works overtime as the team are often short-staffed and yet she is always smiling and having fun! She is a real gem! Khun Khur also works hard and is an excellent bar-tender too! He is always making jokes and making it a fun environment for both his colleagues and guests! At Barsu, when it comes to live music, there is no competition! Freelander is leagues ahead of any other band! They have a very diverse range of songs, they have fun and take many requests! They always sing a few songs for me and I really appreciate it! Their voice is also excellent, you can actually hear the words properly! The staff at Barsu are all amazing! There is a talanted new bar tender called Khun Dew who has made me some very interesting cocktails and mocktails! But, I am very very impressed with Khun Fai (Five) Even when it is busy, she never seems overwhelmed! She takes everything in nher stride and still finds time to interact with guests. Khun Bass and Khun Boom are also excellent! They always make every guest feel very welcome and always interact with them. I mention this interaction a lot because, their job is to work, but many guests enjoy interacting with staff at the bar to keep it interesting and avoid bordem! If a bar is boring, the guest will often leave early to look for a bar which is more fun! They may never return! The band, Freelander, also interact with guests a lot! Both, the Living Room on level 1 and Barsu, have such a fun and positive environment, I made near a dozen new friends on this trip! We hung out and had a lot of fun partying! In terms of quality, nothing beats Sheraton Grande! I am vegetarian and I do not eat any chilli or spice! Yet, I order Indian food. The Indian food will often have elements pre-prepared, such as, the masala sauce. These would often contain a small amount of chilli or spices. However, for me, they explain it will take a little longer (which of course I don't mind) as they will make it fresh without any chilli or spice! I cannot express my gratitude enough for this as in some other 5* hotels, they take shortcuts which is obvious and ends up spoiling the dish! For example, recently I ordered Paneer (cottage cheese) butter masala at both Sheraton Grande and another 5* hotel in Thailand. Sheraton made it from scratch and tasted amazing! The other hotel clearly used the same masala as I could still taste the spice and chilli but tried to cover it up with a huge amount of tomato sauce. This spoilt the dish and I stopped ordering Indian food altogether at that hotel! I was fortunate to have celebrated my birthday there too. On the day of my birthday, wherever I walked, everyone such as Housekeeping, bell man, concierge, frint desk and all of the F&B outlsets wished me happy birthday! They had several gifts for me and they even prepared a beautiful cake with an image of me made out of chocolate! See photo! Sadly, I was not feeling to great on the day due to excessive partying the days before, but despite this, this was still probably my best birthday to date! They also made some beautiful custom-made t-shirts which I cherish and wear proudly to tell everyone in the world that this is my favourite hotel and it is almost impossible to take them off this top spot! For those of you who don't know me, I was a former Youtuber, travelling around the world and making videos of my flights and hotels (loveflyingandhotels) - so I know a great hotel when I see one! I am sad that I am not there now, the people are so wonderful and I truly miss them! But I look forward to my next visit! I will need to take 2 suitcases - one for my clothes and the other filled with gifts for the staff! Thank you all and all the best. Khun Young #Foreveryoung!

The room was a bit old, but the service was excellent and the amenities were great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall, it's still highly recommended!

This was always one of the best run hotels in the Starwood system and one of my favorites. I'm lifetime titanium but have started staying at Hyatts since 2019 since the devaluation of benefits under Marriott. I hadn't had a chance to come to this hotel since covid but grabbed the chance to come back this week, sadly for only one night. I'm happy to say this is still an extremely well run hotel, a jewel of Marriott and reminds me of the Starwood days. The stay was just that good!! No devaluation of benefits here. I got a prestige/luxury suite which is my favorite room type here. I spent a summer in this configuration in the 2010s here. Two full bathrooms. Gorgeous views of the lake. Worth the price if you can afford it. The titanium happy hour no longer include bar su but is now only at pool and living room buts wonderful. They have actually improved the food offerings since last time. Excellent benefit for platinum and above. They've always kept free coffee etc to room which is great. Used it several times a day. Wonderful. I also enjoyed the pool area more this time. As I've gotten older, I'm less looking for a big pool to swim in but one to rest in the water. It's a gorgeous pull area. Seating area Is a little cramped. Didn't love that they sell outside passes to pool as one large family came and took many seats. In high season, I could see crowds being a real problem. But the pool area is absolutely gorgeous. Service great with free water. And I love that they have a jacuzzi with hot water. Too many Thai hotels only have come water jacuzzis. This is a really great pool area. In my 30s I found the decor a little outdated with the blue tiles in bathroom. Now that I'm near 50s I absolutely love the blue tiles. The decor is different from other hotels and is not cookie cutter. Loved it. I chose breakfast in Orchid care over Rossini's because I like choice but isn't it great that SGS still goes elites a choice? They haven't bended the knee to Marriotts devaluation of benefits. Sadly I could only stay one night. I definitely will come back again and again and again. I have great memories here. I wrote a book In the living room one summer, celebrated my mother In laws 75th birthday here with a huge family trip. Hotel is absolutely wonderful. Honestly, sitting here's it makes me miss the Starwood days so much. Hyatt has filled most of the gap for me but the recent devaluations and turmoil have made me wary of Hyatt. But anyway, stay at the SGS. You won't be disappointed
