The hotel was not flexible at all with either check-in or check-out times, which made the overall experience inconvenient. When I booked through Agoda, I paid a significant extra amount to include breakfast. However, after arriving at the hotel, I discovered that breakfast was actually free for all guests. This felt very misleading and unfair. The breakfast itself was also very poor. There were almost no choices available, whether you eat meat or follow a vegetarian diet. The selection was extremely limited and did not meet basic expectations. In addition, the hotel does not offer a laundry service. Housekeeping also comes very late in the day, which is inconvenient if you want to return to a clean room earlier. The room was dusty in several places, showing that it had not been cleaned properly. Some of the table surfaces were badly damaged, yet the hotel warns guests that they will be charged 5,000 THB for damaging the furniture, even though it was already in poor condition before my stay. What concerned me the most was the bed. I found what appeared to be a blood stain on a mattress that was supposed to be new. Even worse, the inside of the mattress was full of mold. I have photos documenting these issues. Overall, this experience was far below expectations, and I cannot recommend this hotel.

Location - Conveniently located directly opposite National Stadium BTS Station and is within easy walking distance of MBK Centre. Although situated along a busy road, the hotel is set back slightly from the main road, providing a welcome oasis. Checkin - We were warmly greeted by Nas who promptly thanked me for being an IHG member. Check-in was quick and efficient. Nas presented us with a personalised welcome letter signed by the General Manager. It was clearly prepared specifically rather than being a generic, mass-produced letter, demonstrating the hotel's commitment to making guests feel genuinely welcomed. Nas highlighted the facilities and amenities while another staff member quietly arranged our luggage onto a trolley and offered to deliver it to our room. After a long flight and the journey into the city, such a smooth and seamless arrival was greatly appreciated. Guest Room - Our assigned room is spacious, bright, and features floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the National Stadium and the surrounding city skyline. The room was spotlessly clean, with most amenities already prepared for immediate comfort. One good feature was the long work surface running beneath the television, providing an excellent workspace while leaving ample room for luggage and personal belongings. An additional glass table offers a convenient surface for dining or other activities. This thoughtful layout keeps the room feeling uncluttered and naturally draws our attention to the expansive windows and impressive views. Another thoughtful addition is a comfortable swivel armchair positioned beside the windows. It quickly became one of our favourite spots in the room, providing the perfect place to sit back, relax, and take in the panoramic views. The bathroom is clean and well-appointed. It does, however, feature the familiar dual-purpose door that serves as both the bathroom entrance and shower door — a design that many travellers may find less practical and inconvenient. The bathroom floor can become quite slippery when wet. Two floor mats have been provided, presumably to reduce the risk of slipping. However, as these mats are not secured to the floor, they can themselves become a slip or trip hazard. Guests should therefore exercise a little extra caution when using the bathroom after showering. Hotel Facilities - We spent some time exploring the hotel's facilities after settling in. Most guest amenities are located on the 7th floor, including The Great Room (the breakfast venue) and the self-service laundry, while the 24-hour fitness centre and rooftop garden occupy the 24th floor. The rooftop garden is a particularly thoughtful addition. Although Holiday Inn Express properties generally do not offer swimming pools, this peaceful green space provides a pleasant retreat where guests can relax, enjoy some fresh air, or simply soak up the morning sunshine above the busy streets below. Another feature we appreciated was the self-service ice machine. Since the in-room refrigerator does not chill beverages as cold as we prefer, having easy access to ice was a welcome convenience. Staff Service - The excellent service we experienced during check-in continued throughout the afternoon. I mentioned to another member of the front desk team that we would appreciate an extra coffee mug and some additional tea supplies later in the day. Within ten minutes, housekeeping arrived at our room with everything we had requested. That level of responsiveness certainly exceeded our expectations. First Impressions - We have only just checked into Holiday Inn Express Bangkok Siam today, but our first impressions have been overwhelmingly positive. If the rest of our stay is anything like our arrival experience, we are confident we will have an enjoyable visit. We have no hesitation recommending Holiday Inn Express Bangkok Siam to anyone looking for a comfortable, well-managed, and affordable IHG property in the heart of Bangkok.
