Sawasdee Lang Suan Inn

This branch of the Sawasdee hotel has closed down. There are a couple of other Sawasdee of varying quality around Bangkok. Not much of comparable price/quality in the Langsuan area though. Sorry don't know where else to post this...

If you are looking for rooms with views, forget it. Think of this hotel as just functional and you will be ok. Rooms are very basic but come with A/C and TV and phone. Close walk to the metro, a Starbucks is very nearby for anyone that needs that fix. From BKK airport a taxi shouldcost no more than $400THB. Don't get a TAXI from the booths inside the airport. They are classified as LIMO service and cost $1000THB, Thats for the tourist and only tourists actually get them. If you get the room with breakfast included, its only a few THB and you get seasonal fruit, milk, juice, toast, usually hard boiled eggs, yogurt, cereal. No need to tip, but it always helps improve relatuions. $20 - $30THB a day for maid service, which is daily.

I stayed here for 9 nights. It is a no frills property, but I was comfortable and felt safe. Hot water was not super hot, but was hot enough for quick showers. The staff speaks some English, but since I don't speak much Thai what can I say! All in all this is as represented. It is a 2 star hotel. If chipped paint or a lousy carpet are going to put you off, don't stay here. If you want to be in a great central location with excellent street food around, stay and enjoy.
