Sawasdee Banglumpoo Inn

Went to check in but guy on reception told us the room wasn't ready, so we would have to wait 20 minutes. That turned into 30 minutes. Whilst I was waiting a young couple came to check in. The reception guy was on a smoke break, and with fag in hand told the couple they too would have to wait. The room itself was tiny, bleak and dirty. There was no duvet on the bed, only a sheet and a manky throwover that was badly stained. The towels were threadbare and stained. One of the pillows was rock hard and impossible to use. The edge of the mattress felt like it had a metal rod in it. The shower room was tiny and grotty. The door would only open half way because it hit the toilet. The window in there was strange. It had half a pane of glass on the outer edge of the frame and half a pane of glass on the inner edge of the frame, meaning the mosquitoes could come and go as they pleased. I was bitten a few times. This hotel is tucked away down some small alleys. Not very safe for any female, in my opinion. There is a nightclub along one alley that blasts out music until the early hours. If you're a light sleeper then nodding off at a reasonable hour will be impossible. Staying here 2 nights was enough. I couldn't wait to get to the airport. There are better places to stay around Khaosan Road for the same price. Btw.. You have to pay a 500 baht deposit on check in.

I chose this hotel because of the price point, photos, and location. Luckily I only rented it for two days site unseen. My first impression was how unclean it was. I'm pretty sure I found biological material on the walls. If you're really desperate to find a cheap room with a private bathroom that you'll spend no time in, then, okay, but, I would never suggest this hotel.

This place looked so good on bookings.com great reception and clean rooms. Got to the place, reception is falling apart. Smells like sewage and smoke, get to the rooms and it's even worse. The room smells mouldy, with a massive path of mould on the ceiling. There is hair on the floor, the walls have all kinds of stains from who know what. Booked out the same day as we could not stay in a place like that. Would not recommend anyone going there even if it's cheap. Rather try Khosan Green House for the same price.
